Granny’s Spices is renowned for its commitment to quality and purity. Our factory is fully automated, with advanced sorting, cyro-grinding, blending and steam sterilization processes, as well as an in-house laboratory. We are looking for a Senior Food Technologist to join our team in Rajkot.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Food Technologist specializing in development of seasonings to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for providing application solutions to snacks, convenience foods and beverages category. The role includes seasoning development, seasoning vendor partnership, seasoning scale up and seasoning specification creation.

Responsibilities:

New Product development : Lead the development and formulation of new seasoning products in snacks, convenience foods and beverage category. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to leverage their expertise and deliver desired flavor experience against the briefs. Ensure activities are executed as per NPD launch timelines defined in the meetings. Analysing existing products to identify areas for improvement and updating current portfolio.

Product Research & Evaluation : Good understanding on sensory evaluation processes, sensory discernment and capable to share constructive feedback on product/flavor attributes. Conduct market research and consumer surveys to identify opportunities for new seasoning concepts and product enhancements.

Process Improvement : Process a flow diagram on seasoning production and continuously evaluate seasoning production processes to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Identify opportunities for optimization, such as ingredient sourcing, production techniques, and packaging solutions. Coordinating with Operations to develop manufacturing SOPs and ensure manufacturing viability.

Quality Assurance : Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal quality control procedures. Conduct thorough sensory evaluations, laboratory tests, and shelf-life studies to guarantee the safety and quality of seasoning products.

Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of all formulation recipes, ingredient specifications, process parameters, and testing results. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on product development, quality assurance, and project progress for management review.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Food Science and nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Food technologist in developing seasonings.
  • In-depth knowledge of seasoning formulation, flavor profiling, and ingredient functionality.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality control standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of food processing and packaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of food chemistry and nutrition.
  • Knowledge of food regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant certifications and qualifications are beneficial.
