About the Job – QC Executive (F&V) – Bigbasket Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad
What would you be doing/ Expected from this role?
Inspection and Grading:
• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming fruits and vegetables to assess quality parameters, including color, size, freshness, and overall appearance.
• Grade produce based on quality standards and specifications.
Quality Assurance:
• Develop and implement robust quality control procedures to maintain consistent product quality.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and bigbasket’s quality guidelines.
Sampling and Testing:
• Collect samples for laboratory testing to assess factors such as moisture content, sugar levels, and nutritional value.
• Analyze test results and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address any deviations.
Documentation:
• Maintain detailed records of quality assessments, inspections, and testing results.
• Generate comprehensive quality reports for internal use and communication with suppliers.
Supplier Relations:
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and growers to communicate bigbasket’s quality requirements.
• Conduct regular audits of supplier facilities to ensure alignment with the quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
• Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall quality control
processes within the F&V department.
• Stay informed about advancements in technology and methodologies related to quality control.
Who are we looking for?
• Bachelors degree in food science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in quality control within the food industry, with a focus on fruits and vegetables.
• Knowledge of relevant food safety regulations and quality standards.
