1. Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

2. Purpose of the Role: To ensure the food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of products by implementing and maintaining an effective Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

3. Key Responsibilities
  • Food Safety System Management
  • Implement and maintain systems like FSSC 22000, HALAL, BRC, USFDA
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations
  • Maintain documentation of SOPs, procedures, and records
  • Quality Assurance & Control
  • Monitor raw materials, in-process, and finished product quality
  • Approve incoming raw materials
  • Review test reports and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with product standards
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs)
  • Review validation and verification activities
  • Audit Management
  • Coordinate internal audits
  • Prepare for certification and regulatory audits
  • Handle non-conformities and implement CAPA
  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Approve and evaluate suppliers
  • Review supplier COA and specifications
  • Conduct supplier audits if required
  • Production Quality Monitoring
  • Monitor GMP, hygiene, and sanitation practices
  • Ensure cleaning and pest control programs are effective
  • Conduct routine factory inspections
  • Laboratory Management
  • Manage product testing (microbiological, chemical, physical)
  • Ensure laboratory equipment calibration
  • Review test results and release products
  • Training & Awareness
  • Handle customer complaints
  • Investigate quality issues
4. Documentation Responsibilities
  • Food Safety Manual
  • SOPs and work instructions
  • HACCP plan
  • Quality records
  • CAPA reports
  • Internal audit reports
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Customer complaint rate
  • Audit non-conformities
  • CCP compliance rate
  • Product rejection rate
  • Supplier performance
6. Qualification
  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology / MSc in Food Science / Microbiology
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000, BRC and food regulations
  • Internal Auditor for BRC and FSSC 22000
7. Experience
  • Usually 5–7 years in FSSC and BRC certified food manufacturing unit
