Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Regional Vendor Quality Assurance Lead to manage end-to-end vendor quality, food safety compliance, and process standardization across multiple locations within the assigned region. The role will ensure consistent product quality across poultry, red meat, seafood, and other protein categories by driving vendor compliance, audits, documentation control, specification management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role will work closely with sourcing, procurement, supply chain, operations, and vendor partners to ensure products consistently meet internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Vendor Quality Management
- Oversee quality operations across all vendor locations within the assigned region.
- Ensure vendor compliance with internal quality standards, food safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive implementation of SOPs and process controls across vendor facilities.
- Monitor vendor performance through scorecards, periodic reviews, and corrective action plans.
- Support onboarding, qualification, and approval of new vendors.
Product Quality Assurance
- Ensure raw material procurement aligns with defined quality specifications.
- Monitor live bird/live animal selection standards wherever applicable.
- Oversee slaughtering, processing, chilling, packing, storage, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure finished goods clearance as per product specifications and customer requirements.
- Develop, review, and update product specifications, raw material specifications, packaging specifications, and process specifications.
- Work closely with sourcing and product teams for specification alignment during new product launches.
- Drive initiatives to improve product consistency, shelf life, and customer ratings.
Audits & Compliance Management
- Plan and conduct regular vendor audits for food safety, hygiene, operational compliance, and process adherence.
- Perform internal audits across regional facilities to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure vendor compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSSAI, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Track audit observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Prepare vendors for regulatory audits, customer audits, and internal leadership reviews.
- Identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.
Documentation & Record Management
- Ensure proper maintenance of quality documentation across all vendor locations.
- Review and maintain records related to:
- CCP monitoring
- Temperature logs
- Cleaning and sanitation records
- Pest control reports
- Traceability records
- CAPA documentation
- Product testing reports
- Regulatory compliance documents
- Ensure documentation is always audit-ready.
- Standardize documentation formats across vendors for better control and traceability.
Team Management & Training
- Lead and manage regional QA executives across multiple locations.
- Conduct regular training programs for vendor teams on hygiene, food safety, processing standards, audit readiness, and documentation practices.
- Mentor junior QA teams and build accountability across vendor operations.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, and operational failures.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Analyze rejection trends, wastage reports, complaint data, and vendor performance.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce quality issues and improve operational efficiency.
Report & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality dashboards.
- Share audit reports, vendor performance updates, and quality metrics with leadership.
- Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, operations, product, and vendor teams.
- Escalate critical quality risks in a timely manner.
We hope that you have…
- Bachelors/masters degree in food technology, Food Science, Meat Technology, Veterinary Science, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in QA/QC, vendor quality, food manufacturing, meat processing, or supply chain quality roles.
- Strong understanding of poultry/red meat/seafood processing.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSSAI compliance, audits, and documentation systems.
- Experience managing multiple vendors/locations is preferred.
