Education:

B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology

Experience:

· 2-3 years’ experience in new product development

· Experienced in the development of healthy baked products like cookies, crackers, protein bars, nutrition bars, energy bars, etc. at a factory scale.

· Preferrable plant-based protein enriched, low fat, low sugar product development experience

Job Purpose:

· Recipe development and reformulation to achieve a product that meets customer expectations and that is financially and technically feasible.

· Market research to investigate and identify customer needs.

· New product costings including determination of costs for ingredients, packaging, labor and distribution and analysis of the new product.

· RM and PM supplier development to source high-quality and cost-effective material.

· Pre-production Lab trials to determine new product feasibility and reproducibility at full-scale production in the factory.

· Microbiology/Shelf-Life testing of new products to ensure they are safe for human consumption and to determine Use By dates for consumers.

· Nutritional testing of new products to ensure that the nutritional composition of a new product meets the requirements and fulfills nutritional claims.

· Keep up to date with food safety legislation and food industry guidelines and communicate the need for change to relevant departments as required.

· Work within a tight time scale and to specific development requirements.
