Summary of the position:

This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of our breweries, ensuring the highest quality wort and beer is produced in accordance with all best practices and SOPs.

Brewing Executives are expected to follow SOPs and best practices, lead shift operations and respond quickly to defects, errors, or process problems arising in daily operation.

A successful Brewing Executive has a can-do attitude, knowns their process area SOPs and best practices intimately, the overall KPIs and quality targets for the brewery, and is always looking for ways to improve performance against those directives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Brewing Operations & Process:

  • Execute all activities related to beer brewing, production, and processing according to SOPs, through raw material handling, raw material processing and conveying, brewhouse operations, cellar operations, centrifugation and filtration operations, yeast management, and preparation for packaging.
  • Manage part-time operators on shift, giving clear directives in accordance with best practices and SOPs.
  • Responsible for routine hygiene and 5S management of brewing department, cellar department, centrifugation and filtration department, yeast management department, and bright beer department.
  • Adherence to Quality parameters and quality KPIs.
  • Achievement against quarterly goals of departmental process improvement projects and Kaizen events.
  • Annual participation and achievement against L&D and education requirements.
  • Other routine brewing and/or quality processes, testing, etc. as needed.
  • Reduction of Beer losses.
Qualification and Skill Set:
Education – B.Sc in Food Technology, B.Tech/B.E. in Bio-Chemistry/Bio-Technology /MS/M.Sc(Science) in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Chemistry
Experience – 4 – 6 years

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-intensive discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.)with 4-6 years of work experience.
  • Ability to operate brewing automation systems and manipulate brewing process machines and skids.
  • Organized, able to methodically and accurately record data, and able to follow SOPs.
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Must be flexible to work in day, afternoon, and midnight shifts.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Understanding of the brewing and packaging process, HACCP and Good Manufacturing practices for food manufacturing a plus.
