Position: Officer CQA
Education Required: B.Tech/ Post Graduation in Food Technology
Experience – 5 – 10 years
Functional Competencies:
- Food safety systems with ISO-22000 requirements
- Food chemistry and microbiology
- General manufacturing process & systems
- Application of statistical tools in data analysis & problem-solving, root cause analysis & corrective action planning
- Presentation skill
- Conversant with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), data analysis
Job Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing unit & distribution centre audit
- Conducting Quality & food safety audits at manufacturing units & distribution centres to verify compliance to defined standards in process & systems
- Assessment of compliance to applicable regulatory requirements at manufacturing units & distribution centres
- Identifying key risks to quality, food safety & regulatory compliance in the manufacturing & distribution process
- Assisting units & distribution centres in upgrading their systems, processes & infrastructures towards addressing the inadequacies
- Establishing a correlation between process & system non-compliance to the consumer feedback & quality scores which in turn would facilitate in addressing key issues impacting product quality & food safety.
- Communication of audit findings, non-compliances & key risks to unit or distribution centre management, regional operation & quality teams with adequate objective & documentary evidences.
- Reporting of audit non-compliances, risks & findings to all stakeholders within stipulated period after completion of the audit
- Follow up with unit or distribution centre management & regional team for timely submission of corrective action plan with timelines & responsibilities.
- Sensitize stakeholders on critical non-compliances
Vendor quality audit
The person shall be responsible for
- Auditing the manufacturing process, quality & food safety systems & regulatory compliance for existing & new vendors of ingredients & packaging materials
- Communicating audit findings & critical issues with recommendations to purchase & other stake holders
- Coordinating with purchase in getting the gaps closed in a time-bound manner
Approval for new unit, line & product-
The person shall be responsible for
- Assessing the gaps in proposed new units/lines &reporting the same to appropriate stakeholders at the commissioning stage
- Ensuring that the new units/lines or products are as per defined requirements & standards and the systems & processes adopted in the facility are capable of continuously meeting the quality & food safety standards of the company.
- Assessing the process capability and providing technical inputs towards ensuring consistent delivery of designed products and packaging.
Market quality performance evaluation-
The person shall be responsible for
- Coordinating with stakeholders and establishing mechanism to get regular feedback on market quality performance of BIL products.
- Participating in market sample evaluation in order to determine the quality standards against top competition brands
- Reporting gaps & assisting units in linking those gaps to process, systems & infrastructure and closure of those gaps.
Process improvement initiatives-
The person shall be responsible for
- Analysis of quality performance metrics of manufacturing units & initiate appropriate process improvement measures & projects to address the gaps
- Tracking the progress regularly & providing inputs to units for the successful completion of projects & initiatives within stipulated timelines.
Consumer complaint reduction
The person shall be responsible for
- Regular review of consumer complaint trends
- RCA and action plan for closure with appropriate stakeholders
- Identifying focus areas and assisting in developing appropriate action plans wherever required
- Verification of action for effectiveness etc.
