Reporting: Manager R&D
Role Overview:

The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager R&D will play a key role in evaluating coffee quality, conducting cup tastings, and supporting product development initiatives. The role involves working closely with the R&D and production teams to develop new coffee-based products, beverages, and packed products that align with the companys quality and innovation standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Expertise in coffee tasting (cupping) and sensory evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of coffee bean quality, roasting, and blending.
  • Product formulation and development knowledge in beverages or packed foods.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Good documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
Qualifications:

Exposure:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Technology.
  • Coffee tasting certification or training is a strong advantage.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in R&D, preferably within the coffee, beverage, or food processing industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Evaluate green coffee beans for quality and suitability for various blends.
Conduct cupping (tasting) sessions to assess and rate roasted coffee beans.
Assist in the development of new coffee-based products, beverages, and ready-to-use/packed products.
Support formulation trials and product testing to achieve desired taste, aroma, and consistency.
Maintain accurate records of tasting notes, blend profiles, and product development reports.
Work in collaboration with production, quality, and marketing teams to ensure new products meet business and consumer requirements.
Assist in process optimization and product improvement activities.
Stay updated on market trends, new ingredients, and innovations in the coffee and beverage industry.
