Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative New Product Development (NPD) Specialist to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products in the FMCG sector. The role involves extensive research, formulation, shelf life studies, and understanding consumer preferences to ensure successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new products from concept to launch, including design and testing.
- Formulate new product recipes, ensuring they meet company and industry standards.
- Conduct shelf life studies to determine product longevity and quality maintenance.
- Analyze competitor products to stay abreast of market trends and innovations.
- Identify and develop relationships with new vendors to source quality ingredients and materials.
- Conduct product tastings and ensure products meet desired taste profiles and quality standards.
- Perform rigorous product testing to ensure safety, efficacy, and compliance with regulations.
- Gather and apply customer and consumer taste preferences to product development.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to drive innovation and improvement in product offerings.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications:
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology or B.Sc/M.Sc in Food Technology.
- 3-5 years of experience in the FMCG industry, specifically in new product development.
- Strong knowledge of formulation, product testing, and shelf life studies.
- Experience with competitor product analysis and consumer taste research.
- Excellent understanding of R&D processes within the FMCG sector.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
