Varun Beverages Ltd. is seeking a Process Chemist to join the Quality Control department. The successful candidate will ensure product quality and maintain high standards in line with PepsiCo guidelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1, PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Job Context:

  • A process chemist’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by where they work, there are many core tasks associated with the role .
  • Interlinking theoretical knowledge and experimental approaches.
  • Implementing the principles of sustainability at the roots of the chemical design.

3, KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Accountabilities Scope of work

Individual Sensory score 100 %.

Maintain the Brix, Volume & Physio Chemical Parameter as per PepsiCo Guideline. Do the CIP as per Schedule.

Ingredient Water Quality Score 100%.

Monitor Water Quality Testing Schedule as per PepsiCo Guideline Maintain the Water Quality Specifications per PepsiCo Guideline

Corrected Caffeine score 100 %.

Maintain the Quality System in the Shift. Maintain & review the Documents on Daily basis as per PepsiCo

Syrup Availability as per Plan 100%.

Prepare the Syrup as per schedule with in time Frame. Follow the Syrup Testing Schedule & maintained the Specification as per norms.

Sugar Delta 0.2 %.

Monitor & Maintain the Sugar Delta as per Target in each Batch

No any Unsatisfactory & Minimum Mandate Failure in AIB Audit.

Maintain the Sanitary & Hygienic condition of the Processing area to achieve the Micro Results.

QAS audit Score 98

Maintain the Process as per AIB(Food Safety) & QAS requirements

No any Major findings to be raised during FSMS & Other Audits.

Maintain the Sanitary & Hygienic condition of the Processing area to achieve the Micro Results.

  • Maintain corrected caffeine scores of 100% by implementing and reviewing quality system documents daily.
  • Ensure syrup availability as per plan by preparing syrups within the specified time frame and following testing schedules while maintaining specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain sugar delta within the target range for each batch.
  • Maintain sanitary and hygienic conditions in the processing area to achieve micro results and prevent unsatisfactory or minimum mandate failures during AIB audits.
  • Maintain process compliance with AIB (Food Safety) and QAS requirements to achieve a QAS audit score of 98 or higher.
  • Ensure no major findings are raised during FSMS and other audits by maintaining sanitary and hygienic conditions in the processing area.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department employees/workers/operators to ensure smooth operations and maintain high standards.
  • Implement sustainable chemical design principles and interlink theoretical knowledge with experimental approaches.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or Chemistry (B.Sc./B.Tech-Food Tech) is required.
  • 03-05 years of experience in the food industry, with a strong knowledge base and practical experience.
  • Expertise in team-working style and the ability to work under pressure, meeting desired deadlines.
  • High analytical ability, imagination, and creativity are essential for this role.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Desirable certifications: B.Sc. (Chemist) or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the food industry are highly advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control practices.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions regarding process chemistry.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new industry developments.
