Job Overview:
The Research and Development (R&D) Senior Scientist- II for Innovation, Technology, and Quality (ITQ) you will be responsible for developing and advancing technical strategies & initiatives to support the growth of existing products and the development of new products across markets as part of bakeries business. Focus will be largely, but not limited to, development of NDWT portfolio and other expanded bakery adjacencies like glazes, fruit crushes/sauces etc.
Main Responsibilties:
Senior Scientist- II/Baking Application Manager role involves influencing the business on forthcoming business opportunities, strategies to bring new ideas to life through prototyping and a consumer first design mindset, strong collaboration among the O&T team, and developing a solid technical understanding of product development and technology to bring these products to life. This role is expected to be subject matter expert on creams/NDWT. Focus of this role is to meet requirements outlines in this document for NDWT.
25% of time :
- Collaborate and partner with business team to develop innovation strategies for bakery adjacencies
- Leverage a customer first design mindset to identify and validate ideas
- Influence business with differential innovation ideas and bring them to life through real time innovation pipeline
50% of time :
- Leverage product development capabilities to continuously innovate, test and enable commercialization of NPDs
- Lead the ITQ project management for bakery adjacencies to ensure flawless execution of NPDs and renovation projects
- Develop business first mindset and enable cost efficiencies through potential HMM levers (new or existing) to support business model efficiencies for bakery adjacencies.
- Collaborate with technology and other cross functional teams to continuously improve ITQ processes, explore new technical avenues and build technical capabilities for future
25% of time :
- Partner with marketing, consumer insights, operations, sourcing and sales to flawlessly execute projects and grow bakeries business in India
- Serve as technical coach and expert for bakery adjacencies for ITQ as well culinary and sales teams
- Proactively engage with key customers and sales team to ensure technical resolutions in market
- Seve as consultant to supply chain in building relevant manufacturing capabilities in house or with ESCs
- Serve as team lead for small team ITQ scientists for bakery adjacencies.
- Provide knowledge transfer, technical coaching and day today work directions in meeting business objectives
- Ensure core food safety design principles through product development and adhere to Food safety policy requirements for R&D
- Develop, maintain ingredients and finished product specifications content
- Ensure relevant business maintenance activities for bakery adjacencies are undertaken
- Champion the protection and creation of Intellectual Property (IP) and documentation of technical knowledge
Education and Experience:
Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters
