Portfolio Manager – Taste & Wellbeing
Building a robust portfolio of flavors, seasonings & ingredients for various segments thereby enhancing Givaudan’s win rate and response time in the market. To ensure professional customer brief management by connecting with the stakeholders involved in various projects. You will be based in Mumbai and report to the Senior Flavourist II.

In this position you will:

  • Building and maintaining a local collection of various flavours for agile submission to the market.
  • Screening regional/global flavour portfolio to ensure that it is relevant, complete, competitive, profitable and aligned with the local business strategy
  • Build collections by selecting the best flavours from other regions leveraging technical, legal and quality information as well as commercial insights to ensure that they are relevant, complete, competitive, profitable and aligned with the local business strategy
  • Assure data quality and relevance of the flavours in the portfolio through regular portfolio analysis and by initiating the necessary improvement measures for the understanding of missing flavour profiles.
  • Carry out application trials of the various new flavours to be added to the relevant segment portfolio
  • Ensure proper brief management by connecting with various stakeholders during periodical project review meetings
  • Initiate the dialogue and collaborate with Regional Product Managers and Flavourists to ensure the effective commercialization of new technology and innovation
  • Keep track to assure compliance with Collection flavours and raise compliance issues as and when necessary
  • Be an active member in sharing the local collections with the cross-regional teams
  • Local trainer & power user for any newly launched global flavour selection tools
  • Support and empower the FC&A and commercial teams in selecting flavours from collections
  • Drive communication about content and updates on collections on a regular basis to technical and commercial teams.
  • Support the marketing team in developing external promotions for key customers.
  • Train, develop and manage the performance of local Flavour Portfolio specialists.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Your professional profile includes:

  • With a min of 8 – 10 years of experience in Flavour Application and Evaluation or related areas.
  • Bachelor / Masters degree in Food Science, Food Technology.
  • Good written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Written and verbal command of English
  • Proficiency in common computer Applications
  • Ability to operate various lab equipment
  • Experience in running pilot and plant trials will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrates solid sensory skills
  • Team management with high interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Ability to work in a virtual matrix organisation
  • Advanced project management skills with the ability to lead complex local & regional portfolio projects
  • In-depth understanding of most food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ food manufacturing environment
  • Excellent understanding of Sensory, Consumer Understanding and Brands and skills to convert this knowledge into collection building
  • Good data processing skills
  • Expert in translating customer and market needs into relevant collections
  • Ability to supervise, train and guide Flavour Portfolio specialists
