POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Operations Quality Assurance function in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy to ensure that the raw material, packaging material, and services are fit for purpose and meet expectations. Responsible for ensuring that suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements and continue to meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. Responsible for providing leadership, outstanding people skills, and management to a team of Supplier Quality Supervisor / Officers

Roles & Responsibility

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve performance.
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supplier Quality activities.
Lead supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance.
Lead quality audits for suppliers
Work with Design and Manufacturing team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
Support Global Sourcing Team with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Quality and Environmental risks
Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards.
Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues.
Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the operation.
Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Manage the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Post Graduate Degree / Degree in Dairy or Food Sciences or Pharmaceutical or related field like master’s degree in science with 10 to 12 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance function

Skills:

Excellent understanding of Food safety with previous experience in a Quality auditor role a distinct advantage.

Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance principles.

Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes (Spraying, Dry blending, Aseptic filling), is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and technical writing skills with experience in the use of problem-solving tools.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Innovative and Continuous Improvement mindset.

Certified Green belt in lean / six sigma would be advantage.

Experience within a Global, multi-cultural organization.

Experience:

10 to 12 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance function in food/ Dairy/ Nutrition industry. Experience in processing, reviewing, and filing hard and soft copy documents, preferably within the quality department in a Nutritional or similarly regulated industry.
