To meet our challenges, we are looking for a Food Scientist within the CTS (Customer Technical Service) team! This position will be located in Mumbai.

The incumbent will work with a dynamic team consisting of application scientists, commercial and marketing leads to explore the technical values ​​of Roquette solutions for Asia, mainly in India, across the Roquette offerings portfolio and India priorities.

Working together with your team, you will provide technical support to our sales and marketing teams in the form of recommending the right use of our ingredients to customers.  Your role is also to identify new ingredients and to establish their value proposition as part of our innovation and exploratory work. You are required to bring a high level of scientific understanding of these ingredients in the finished product and processes.

The CTS team in their laboratories, have the mission to accelerate the innovation capabilities of our food customers in close collaboration with R&D, sales teams, and marketing.

We have a network of laboratories in 4 regions of the world (Europa, Americas, India, Asia).

Your experience and talents will make the difference to:

  • Adopt the global strategy of the company and be able to execute at the local level.
  • Conceptualize new ideas and concepts using Roquette Solutions to further promote Roquette ingredients.
  • Evaluate the performance of Roquette ingredients in food products by understanding the structure/function relationship of the ingredients in the food matrix which also include the sensory perception.
  • Have deeper sense of understanding of the science behind the ingredient application and concept developed.

  • Manage application studies based on scientific evidence and supported by functional analysis.
  • This includes customer requests, development of finished product concepts and the promotion of our product portfolio.
  • Studies are conducted through laboratory and pilot tests with the support of application scientists. Provide support to sales team by conducting trials to support the product development of customers.  Participate in product and application training sessions with our customers and for our sales teams. Adopt the global strategy of the company and be able to execute at the local level. Manages multiple projects and tasks with changing priorities.

And also …

  • You are from food science background / MSc with experience in product development in food applications or have worked in an ingredient supplier business before
  • Have minimum 4 years working experience in the relevant food industry in the RnD /Ingredient Application scope
  • Have a strong appetite for product formulation, good understanding of scientific characterization of food ingredients.  You are able to carry out the tests in the lab and scale up to an industrial process. You know functional analysis methods pertaining to rheology, particle size and microscopy.
