Job Description:

Job Overview:
This position is responsible for providing Quality, Phase Progression and Continuous Improvement support for the FSQ and Engineering user community. This position acts as a champion for quality data accuracy and integrity by providing training, implementation, functional support which leads to improvement in plant quality metrics and optimize overall manufacturing costs. Responsibilities require the incumbent to possess technical leadership and customer relationship skills along with business and team leadership acumen to provide technical consulting to plant team members.

Plant Support:
  • Lead execution of Weight Control / Quality Metrics / Specs Management for plant locations utilizing MQIS
  • Lead setup of FSQ MQIS functionalities for GMI NAR & International regions
  • Build expertise on MQIS Q functionalities for GMI NAR & International regions
  • Advise plant locations on how to use MQIS, from setting up new functionalities to providing guidance within the MQIS Admin Tool
  • Execute Quality Metrics – usage, troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot user issues and questions
  • Lead PLM – MQIS Product Specs work
Quality / HMM Support:
  • Drive the standardization of quality metrics and functionalities across MQIS locations at platform level
  • Lead training & documentation creation on MQIS usage for the quality community
  • Lead weight control initiatives – enable Overpack reduction, deployment and sustenance of weight control program, training/coaching on expectations
  • Execute HMM opportunities from weight control standpoint by partnering with key stakeholders
  • Support deployment of multi-level FSQ dashboards
Statistics:
– Perform statistical analysis – process capability study, ANOVA, Regression analysis, correlation studies, SPC, DOE to identify the most important factors that impact quality & production process
  • Use statistical tools like Minitab / Net Stat and data aggregation tools like Manufacturing Analytics, Power Query to present opportunities to plant and key stakeholders
  • Leverage DMAIC thinking for improving processes, reducing costs, and increasing customer satisfaction

Training (Systems/tools):
  • Offer training to the MQIS user community on MQIS Systems and Q functionalities
  • Effectively provide training in a variety of methods – distance learning, classroom, one-on-one, small group, large group, refresher
  • Develop training and documentation materials for FSQ functionalities
  • Ensure training materials are available to the user community (website administration)
  • Lead/support optimizing web tools used by FSQ community to aggregate data

Perform as an Individual Contributor:

  • Support MQIS tickets that cannot be addressed by IS support team
  • Create, maintain and adhere to process documentation and strive for continuous improvement
  • Work effectively in a cross-cultural virtual team using influence and collaboration
  • Take self-initiative to learn about GMI systems, processes, Engineering basics and Supply Chain
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Degree Requirements:
Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements:
Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science / Quality Engineering / Food Technology
Required Professional Certifications:
Any relevant Certification in Food Science / QA / Food Technologist/Quality Engineering
Preferred Professional Certifications:
CQE / Six Sigma
Minimum years of related experience required:
5+ years
Preferred years of related experience:
8+ years

Additional Information:
  • This position reports to the Engineering Management with the Supply Chain Division. Hours of operation are 15:30 PM to 00:30 AM OR 13:30 PM to 22:30 PM Mumbai time (Monday to Friday) with the ability to flex hours as the job demands.
  • In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with GMI employees at all levels across the company locations.
  • The Job involves travel to worldwide plants on short term basis depending on business requirements.
