About the Job – Development Specialist – ofi Ernakulam Kerala

We are looking for a candidate, responsible for spice blends & seasoning development projects, understand in-trend consumer preferences and co-create exciting spice ingredient solutions suited to each customer requirement. Responsible for providing application solutions to the savory and culinary application category.

Job Skills

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Seasoning Development
  • Expert level knowledge of raw materials and seasoning ingredients
  • Ability to interface with customers and effectively discuss the seasoning creation needs for multiple seasoning types and provide direction to help solve performance issues in their applications
  • Expert level knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for seasonings
  • Expert level tasting skills with an ability to understand how to adjust a seasoning formulation in the direction needed for modifications

Job Responsibilities

  1. Compound & Blend seasoning samples as requested for customer briefs, Category, application need, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing.
  2. Create seasoning & blends with an advanced level of understanding of functionality, flavour, taste & texture
  3. Coordinate the evaluation of seasoning internally or through external agencies
  4. Implement daily brief-related tasks and manage assigned projects and provide seasonings which meet all defined customer needs, meets good manufacturing practices, commercial scale-up requirements, regulatory compliance

Knowledge Sharing & Expertise

  1. Be technical expert to marketing, sales, and customers for flavour profile, raw materials, and nutritional aspects of multiple seasoning types and can discuss the science behind the aspects of seasoning performance
  2. Understand the target market flavour preferences within South East Asia; China, India, Middle East & Europe,
  3. Coordinate the participation of other technical functions directly related to executing customer briefs (sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavour delivery, manufacturing)
  4. Provide technical support & resolve seasoning production issues and customer complaints with complete ownership for the created seasonings.
  5. Anticipate, investigate and resolve problems with application prototypes, applying new ingredients and technologies, flavor systems and finished prototypes
  6. Coach, train, motivate and manage assistants in cross functional training.
