Role & responsibilities
Quality Control
- Perform analysis of crude oils, refined oils, and finished products.
- Conduct routine tests including FFA, Moisture, Peroxide Value (PV), Iodine Value (IV), Color, Soap Content, and other quality parameters.
- Monitor process quality during Degumming, Neutralization, Bleaching, Deodorization, and Fractionation operations.
- Verify compliance of products with FSSAI and customer specifications.
- Release raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods based on quality requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain QA/QC systems as per ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000 requirements.
- Review quality records, laboratory reports, and production documentation.
- Investigate quality deviations and customer complaints.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all quality activities.
Laboratory Management
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration schedules are followed.
- Prepare and standardize laboratory reagents and chemicals.
- Ensure proper sample collection, retention, and testing procedures.
- Maintain laboratory records and test reports accurately.
Audit & Compliance
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Assist in developing and updating SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Participate in vendor quality assessments and supplier evaluations.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Train production personnel on quality awareness and GMP requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and quality enhancement.
- Monitor key quality indicators and prepare quality performance reports.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualification & Experience
- M.Sc in Chemistry
- Bachelor’s Degree-in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 2-8 years of experience in edible oil refinery, solvent extraction plant, or food processing industry.
- Knowledge of edible oil refining processes and laboratory testing methods.
- Familiarity with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards.
Technical Skills
- Chemical analysis techniques
- Instrument handling (GC, HPLC preferred)
- Documentation & audit readiness
