Job Description
Quality team leader shall represent Food Safety & Quality at site level objectives and performance.
Quality team leader shall ensure regulatory compliance and business continuity is met.
The Quality Specialist shall contribute towards leading people within the team and collaborate with other functional stakeholders
Tasks and responsibilities
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Represent Food Safety & Quality function at site
Managing, motivating and developing the team to achieve department KPIs and business targets.
Achieve compliance with Food Safety Management System (FSMS), Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and local regulations (including applicable global regulations) for the site.
Facing the customer audits, internal audits, certification audits, regulatory audits, religious certificate audits for the site
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, develop solutions, and maintain continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
Work closely with other departments or teams regionally and globally to ensure quality issues are identified early and resolved efficiently.
Prepare detailed quality reports, including findings from audits, inspections, and tests. Maintain and update documentation in accordance with quality standards and company procedures.
Perform regular internal quality audits and inspections of products and processes to ensure conformity to quality standards and regulations.
Assist in training and mentoring staff on quality-related procedures, best practices, and safety standards to improve overall quality performance.
Maintain up-to-date documentation through online and offline mechanisms.
Evaluate risks related to change management and new developments.
Basic Qualifications & Expertise
Hold a university degree or postgraduate qualification in Life Sciences, Food Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Biochemistry.
Have 10-12 years of relevant work experience in the food, beverage, biotechnology, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industry.
Experienced people leader
Specific experience (as added advantage)
Hands-on experience in developing Food Safety Management Systems.
Holding relevant Food safety & quality certificates
Reporting lines
Quality manager of India and Head of Quality Operation – APAC
Candidate profile
Demonstrates integrity and honesty.
People / team leadership
Self-motivated and strategic thinker.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The role involves collaboration with stakeholders across India and global teams, requiring sensitivity to cultural differences and working styles.
Job Location – Patalganga MIDC (Near Panvel, Navi Mumbai)
Transport – Available from Kharghar Station and Panvel Station.
