• Ideally, Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent
• Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering and/or Product/Process development

Key responsibilities-

• Developing and updating all paperwork/systems to be complaint to global standards
• Supporting operations with incident management, troubleshooting and conduct food safety risk assessments as part of hold and release
• Driving continuous improvement and execute quality projects in close collaboration with other teams
• Optimize process conditions and implement adequate control measures to guarantee quality first time in all processes.
• Benchmark key processes by performing mass / energy balances to identify opportunities to increase product quality, process capacity, and productivity while minimizing energy consumption. Evaluate processes and lead process improvement projects in line with continuous improvement methodologies
• Use of lean tools (e.g six sigma, value stream mapping) to improve process capability while maintaining and improving quality standards.
• Support the Product Innovations Team on various Projects in terms of Package System Design and ensure proper machine material interface
• Application of new technologies, materials and cost reduction projects where appropriate.
• Participate in cross-functional projects involving process, production and cost savings
• Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate SOP’s and Material Specifications.
• Ensure Mars QFS standards applicable to product & processes continuously implemented
• Lead QFS Improvement projects, includes CAB in partnership with Project team
• Verification of compliance to formulas as updated in Radar/LEO by Innovation team/spec team/Updating batch records with changes to formulas.
• Trend and track in process parameters and defects monitored, document Nonconformance report for out of specification parameters, launch CAPAs and follow through to conclusion
• Manage data from Datalyzer/manual recordings, analyze and lead projects to improve process capabilities
• Maintain and update data bases for Mixing, sheeting and wrapping processes and product quality metric
• Work with Maintenance to ensure compliance to Calibration and preventive maintenance program for Factory.
• Manage validation program for Q&FS monitoring and measuring devices e.g. metal detectors, filters and screens, magnets etc.
• Approve and assess artworks in accordance to material specification & equipment requirements
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects based on market & consumer feedback to improve the performance of existing product and packaging in terms of its value, quality and sustainability, R&D lead on site for continuous improvement and efficiency projects
• Training of manufacturing team members on materials, handling and new methodologies
• Interface with Product Development, Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.
• Validation, appraisal and support of packaging suppliers – (equipment and material).
