About the Job – NPD Manager – Zippy Edible Products Pvt Ltd Jaspur Uttarakhand
Zippy Edibles is setting up a high-moisture extrusion facility to manufacture plant-based texturized protein products and focusing on the values that matters most to consumers – taste & price– , to help increase protein intake of the Indian population in a sustainable manner. We also seek to make veg-meat value-added products that can be readily consumed by customers or can be served to B2B clients.
We have invested heavily in high moisture extrusion based technology from Europe, which will be used to make a texturized protein substrate. This can also be made meaty to replicate chicken or mutton. Further, this substrate can be used to make value added products such as high protein nuggets, patties, momos or keema. We seek to improve the price and flavor profile significantly for plant-based proteins and increase their consumption on a mass scale.
We have bought samples from Europe on a production scale trial, and developed some incredible products with them. These products include chicken products that are indistinguishable from the real thing, or protein rich foods that can replicate your favorite veg kebabs. As we come closer to our production in March 2023, we are looking for motivated individuals to join our team at Rudrapur and help deliver delicious protein-rich products to an Indian population where 80% of the people are protein deficient, and the protein requirements have to be sustainable and economical.
You will be joining as one of the first hires to develop these products at Zippy Edibles, and will be instrumental in all product development related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead scale-up from lab to eventual production
– Build a team for quality control and product development
– Timely and right execution of product development activities including formulation development, sensory evaluation, technology transfer & R&D documentation.
– Required to coordinate with advisors and consultants remotely and iterate as required.
– Able to handle basic quality related tasks as per FSSAI such as nutritional labeling, detailing existing processes, sample management etc.
Qualifications:
– Familiar with, Product / Process / Technology development, Production, Quality & food safety
– Should be B. Tech. or M. Tech. in Food technology from a reputed institute/ university.
– Possess excellent interpersonal, analytical, troubleshooting and team building skills with proven ability in establishing quality systems / procedures and planning / managing resources.
– 2-6 years experience in food, preferably in R&D
– Experience in ready-to-eat or poultry products is prefered
– Salary competitive with industry standards for your experience
