About the Job – Junior Research Associate – ITC Tiruchirapalli Tamil Nadu

Job Purpose: Analyse food samples (Raw materials and Finished Goods) received from all categories for both chemical and Instrumentation parameters as per instructions of Team Lead and document the analytical results. Familiarisation of new analytical techniques and independent handling of instruments and participation in sensory evaluation and compliance to necessary EHS and GLP requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

1 Quality Assurance analysis as per ITC Spec

Analysis of Raw materials and finished products as per ITC specification and documentation of results IN ORDER TO ensure the consistency and quality of product.

2 Preparation and standardization of lab Reagents and standard solutions

Preparation of Standard solutions & reagents required for analysis as per standard operating procedures and standardization of same IN ORDER TO carry out the routine analysis of samples received

3 Documentation for ISO 17025 and NABL accreditation

Preparation and review of documents pertaining to Laboratory Quality Management System. Record maintenance for audit trail.

4 Calibration of Analytical Instruments

Calibrate analytical instruments and balances as per the set frequency IN ORDER TO check the efficiency of instrument for measurement. Follow-up for calibration to be carried out by various teams.

5 GLP and EHS Awareness

Learn, Practice and monitor effective implementation of GLP and EHS in lab IN ORDER TO generate accurate results and provide safe working environment

Required Experience & Qualification:

M.Sc. Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Food Science/ Biochemistry with minimum of 2 years Industry/Institutional Experience of Chemical and Instrumentation Analysis.

Knowledge and Business Understanding

• “Understanding of ISO 17025 and NABL accreditation;
• Knowledge of Good Lab Practices (GLP);
• Knowledge of current practices in the food quality testing;
• Knowledge of EHS, chemical safety (preferable);
• Knowledge of food chemistry related quality aspects: product shelf life, rancidity, off-flavor formation”
