About the Job – AM – Internal Audit, Food Safety & QA – Tata Consumer Products Bengaluru
Role Objectives
· Assist in Internal Audit Services in developing and executing the annual audit plan, and take a lead role in the day-to-day execution of internal audits such as product and packaging compliance, evaluating advertising and claims, assessing food safety management systems, conducting health and safety reviews (OHSAS) for manufacturing units, and performing process audits, such as plastic waste management and customer complaint handling etc.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
· Plan and conduct the opening meetings with auditee to explain the scope & objectives of the audit engagement to auditee & provide an overview of all steps in the audit process
· Develop a thorough understanding of business processes, policies, SOPs and practices in scope for assigned audits and document the processes in flowcharts and/or process narratives. Identify and document inherent risks & controls within the business processes
· Identify and carry out pre-planning work to narrow down on the focus areas Fieldwork
· Responsible as Lead auditor during the fieldwork
· Develop a risk based test plan by selecting appropriate audit approach, test procedures and sampling criteria based on professional judgment and departmentally defined internal audit methodology
· Perform audit tests and prepare working papers in accordance with professional IIA standards and TGB IA methodology IA Methodology
· Evaluate the adequacy of process design and the effectiveness of controls in meeting business and control objectives. Identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings
· Propose practical and value added recommendations to address control weaknesses and/or process inefficiencies
· Plan and conduct closing meetings with auditee at the end of fieldwork, providing clear explanations for identified issues
· Guide and supervise the team members who are part of the engagement Reporting
· Responsible for preparation of a concise and informative audit report to effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to the branch/department and senior management.
· Stakeholder benefit associated with the same. Providing Inputs & working on business case
Desired Candidate Profile/Experience
· Minimum 4 Years of relevant experience preferably in FMCG Industry
· Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related field.
· Preferred: SAP working knowledge, Advanced certifications in food safety, quality auditing, or regulatory compliance (e.g., Certified Professional in Food Safety, ISO Lead Auditor).
· Expertise in conducting audits, assessing compliance, and implementing corrective actions.
· In-depth knowledge of food safety principles, HACCP, GMPs, relevant ISO standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FSSAI, Legal Metrology, USFDA).
· Familiarity with industry guidelines such as BRC, SQF, or FSSC 22000 is advantageous.
· Ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and industry practices.
· Individual Contributor, ability to take initiative and drive projects
