Health Minister announces new initiatives on World Food Safety Day

On the event of World Food Safety Day on 7 June, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya delivered Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI’s) fourth State Food Safety Index (SFSI) to quantify the exhibition of States across five boundaries of sanitation. SFSI was begun from 2018-19 determined to make a cutthroat and positive change in the food handling environment in the country.

The Union Health Minister congratulated the triumphant State/UTs in view of the positioning for the year 2021-22 for their noteworthy presentation across boundaries. This year, among the bigger states, Tamil Nadu was the highest level state, trailed by Gujarat and Maharashtra. Among the more modest states, Goa stood first followed by Manipur and Sikkim.
